Apple tell iTunes users to wait before upgrading to Vista
05/02/07 – People who use iTunes have been told to wait before upgrading to Windows Vista by Apple. This follows complaints that its music software may not work properly with the newest version of Windows.The problems occur when users try to play purchased music and synchronise the data on using iTunes on systems that have upgraded to Vista. A new version of iTunes should be ready 'in a few weeks' according to Apple's support website.
They are also offering a downloadable tool that will 'repair permissions for important files' and there is a support document available via at the Apple website.
According to Microsoft spokesman Adam Anderson there is a team working with Apple to make iTunes fully compatible with Vista. Speaking to the Associated Press, Anderson also warned iTunes users that they "should stop using Vista for these reasons."
When Microsoft launched Vista they said that over 5,000 software and hardware products were compatible with it. Apple have sold over 90 million iPods worldwide since the digital music player first went on sale in October 2001
