Question - What are my settings for email using Outlook?
Answer
If you would like to use a third party email client to send and receive your email you will need to use the following settings to configure your email correctly.
the standard settings are:
POP/IMAP
incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com
outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomain.com
Username: the email address
Password: XXXXXXXXXX
If you prefer to use IMAP (recommended) you need to set the outgoing mail settings. Please follow the tutorials below to see a step by step guide using both Outlook Express and Microsoft Outlook.
Setting up an Outlook express account

First select tools from the top most menu. Once the drop down menu appears click the accounts link. This will then open a new window.

Once the new account window appears select the add account button and select the 'Mail' link from the menu. This will open the internet connection wizard.

In the connection wizard the first step is to enter the name you wish to be displayed to the recipient when they recieve your email.

Once you have entered your chosen name click the next button to continue to the next stage.

The next stage is to enter your Pulse web hosting email address in the input box. Double check that you have entered the correct email address or you will be unable to collect your emails via Outlook express.

The next stage is to enter your incoming and out going mail server. In the first input box enter 'mail.pulsewebhosting.com', this is the address of your incoming mail server and will enable Outlook express to collect all emails sent to your Pulse web hosting email account.

After entering your incoming mail server you need to enter your out going mail server. As before you need to enter 'mail.pulsewebhosting.com' and this will allow Outlook express to process and send emails via our servers.
