31/05/07 - The social music site Last.fm has been sold for $280m (£140m) the largest ever UK based Web2.0 sale. The site has been bought by the CBS Corporation, which owns the largest radio group in the US.
Weather warning site launched across Europe
26/03/2007 – 21 European countries have launched a website offering weather warnings across the continent. Metroalarm was announced following a week-long meteorological conference in Madrid on Friday 23 March 2007.
Alternative to Wikipedia launched
02/03/2007- American religious activists have created a rival online encyclopedia in order to combat what they claim has is a liberal bias in Wikipedia. Conservapedia.com will use the same open editing technology as Wikipedia but its founders claim it will offer a "much-needed alternative".
